Introduces
Scalable Power Amplifiers
Power Can Be Expanded Or
Divided With The Use Of A Controller
Souderton, PA - 5/10/06 - As RF test levels
and test distances continue to increase, many test
labs are forced to replace smaller amplifiers with
larger, more powerful models. AR RF Microwave
Instrumentation believes there’s a better, more
cost-efficient way to meet changing needs.
Th company’s new Scalable Power offering makes
it possible to add power instead of simply replacing
power. It also enables users to divide the power by
splitting amplifiers for multiple uses, thereby dramatically
increasing the flexibility of its amplifiers.
The heart of this scalable power technology is the
controller. It allows multiple amplifiers to be combined
and controlled by a central location.
For example, a 200S1G4A amplifier (200 Watts / 0.8-4.2GHz)
can be purchased today; and when specs change and more
power is required, another 200S1G4A amplifier can be
added, along with a controller, to make a 400S1G4 amplifier
(400 Watts / 0.8-4.2GHz). The two amplifiers can be
separated and function independently or brought together
and used as one 400S1G4. This system can be upgraded
to a total of four independent 200S1G4A amplifiers
that can be combined for 700 watts. A variety of AR amplifiers can be used as the building blocks
for Scalable Power. Each can be combined with up to
four of the same model amplifiers to increase power
as needed.
The Scalable Power offering also allows for power
to be divided. For example, a 3000W1000 amplifier can
be purchased to provide 3000 watts of power. When 3000
watts are not needed, each of the three 1000W1000C
independent amplifiers can function separately for
1000 watts at multiple locations.
The flexibility of the new Scalable Power offering
represents AR’s commitment to meeting
the changing needs of the market and providing its
