AR Introduces TGAR, A Transient Generator System
That Adapts Easily To Changing Automotive Testing Specs

Souderton, PA – 8/11/05 – Any organization involved in automotive conducted immunity testing knows all too well that specifications are widely diverse and constantly changing. In addition to international specifications created by organizations such as ISO, SAE, and JASO, most automobile manufacturers have their own specs. It is time-consuming, expensive and difficult for testing labs to keep pace. Often testers are required to purchase multiple generators to meet diverse specifications; and then buy new generators as specifications change.

The new TGAR Transient Generator System from AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is designed to be flexible and adaptive. The innovative, user-friendly system, which is capable of generating custom pulses, can handle a large percentage of existing specs. No matter how dramatically specs change, TGAR will be adaptable to the new specifications without the worry of antiquation.

The complete TGAR System (consisting of the TG6083BU, TG6083PS, TG6083AS and TG6000LD) meets the requirements of ISO 7637-2 (2004) and SAE J1113-11 International Automotive Standards; and the requirements of Ford, DaimlerChrysler and General Motors; and can accommodate many of the test specs of Toyota, Honda, BMW, Mercedes Benz and more.

  • Other features that make the TGAR System superior to other transient generators include:
  • Base current rating of 83 amps, covers 95% of DUT requirements
  • Built-in oscilloscope allows for easy pulse verification and self-calibration
  • Pulse verification data is included in the DUT test report
  • LabView-based software and built-in arbitrary waveform generators allow users to create custom waveforms
  • Software updates will be easily handled via downloadable files from website
  • System includes built-in auxiliary power supply

The TGAR System is manufactured, distributed and supported by AR’s worldwide network.
